Abstract
This chapter examines the question of how to audio describe films adequately for
a visually impaired audience from a translational point of view. We will apply Translational
Studies and specifically, the theory of the Leipzig School, in order to propose a
solution for this question. Given that we consider the aim of audio description (AD) to
transmit the communicative value (with its axiological charge) and the communicative
function of the film taking into consideration the global communicative function of
the film in order to elaborate an audio described film (TT) which is communicatively
equivalent to the original film (OT), we defend the hypothesis that the filmic audio
descriptive text (FADT) contains lexemes of the whole axiological range (positive, negative
and neutral) in order to be able to transmit the film value in a communicatively
equivalent way.

En este capítulo examinamos la pregunta de cómo audiodescribir las imágenes de
una película adecuadamente para el público con discapacidades visuales desde un
punto de vista traductológico. Aplicamos los Estudios de la Traducción y, en concreto,
la teoría de la Escuela de Leipzig, para proponer una solución a dicha cuestión. Dado
que opinamos que la audiodescripción tiene como objetivo transmitir el valor comunicativo
(junto con su carga axiológica) y la función comunicativa de la película teniendo
en cuenta la función comunicativa global para llegar a una película audiodescrita (TM) que sea comunicativamente equivalente a la película original (TO), justificaremos la hipótesis de que el texto audiodescriptivo fílmico (TADF) contendrá lexemas de toda la gama axiológica (positivo, negativo y neutral) para poder transmitir el valor fílmico de una manera comunicativamente equivalente.
