El aspecto de la neutralidad en la audiodescripción fílmica

Abstract

This chapter examines the question of how to audio describe films adequately for a visually impaired audience from a translational point of view. We will apply Translational Studies and specifically, the theory of the Leipzig School, in order to propose a solution for this question. Given that we consider the aim of audio description (AD) to transmit the communicative value (with its axiological charge) and the communicative function of the film taking into consideration the global communicative function of the film in order to elaborate an audio described film (TT) which is communicatively equivalent to the original film (OT), we defend the hypothesis that the filmic audio descriptive text (FADT) contains lexemes of the whole axiological range (positive, negative and neutral) in order to be able to transmit the film value in a communicatively equivalent way.
