Abstract

The purpose of this Transnational Report on Social Challenges is to systematise and analyse the main social challenges identified during Phase 1 of the BRIDGE project (2025-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000359236), which was diagnostic in nature. The Report is based on empirical evidence collected in the participating countries through a common methodological approach that combines documentary analysis, statistical data analysis and qualitative analysis of interviews with key stakeholders. Far from establishing normative hierarchies or formulating public policy recommendations, the Transnational Report on Social Challenges proposes an analytical hierarchy based on comparative empirical evidence. This approach allows us to understand the convergences and divergences that exist in contemporary social challenges affecting intercultural dialogue and inclusion in European higher education. In this respect, the Transnational Social Challenges Report serves as a link between the diagnostic phase and the subsequent stages of the project, strengthening the internal coherence of BRIDGE and ensuring that its outputs are grounded in a robust, validated and transnationally corroborated diagnosis.
