Abstract
El propósito de la presente investigación es conocer en el conjunto de mujeres
mayores de 65 años que realizan actividad física en el medio acuático, los
beneficios físicos y psicosociales percibidos desde que realizan dicha actividad.
Para la realización del estudio, en primer lugar se han tenido en cuenta algunas
aportaciones realizadas con anterioridad por otros autores y tras la lectura de
estos, se elaboró el cuestionario utilizado en el que se han recogido preguntas
relacionadas con la percepción personal de la salud desde lo físico, psicológico
y social. La muestra participante ha estado formada por 50 mujeres,
suponiendo una media de edad de 70,3 años.
El resultado obtenido ha sido una óptima percepción de la salud tanto física
como psicológica, con una clara propuesta de empleabilidad desde el Trabajo
Social basada en un Programa de Envejecimiento Activo en el que se
promueva la práctica de ejercicio físico con el fin de prevenir la dependencia,
combatir el sedentarismo y derribar las barreras sociales existentes en la
práctica deportiva femenina.

The obtained result was an optimal perception of health, both psychological and physical, with a clear proposal from Social Support based on an active-old-age program. This program will promote the practice of exercise in order to prevent addictions, sedentarism and social barrier sthat exist in women sports.
