Abstract
inseparables. El análisis del paisaje de
este enclave permite poner de manifiesto la
unicidad de sus valores patrimoniales y su
representatividad del mundo de Doñana.
Nowadays, El Rocío and Doñana are two very meaningful terms. They are well-known for the indisputable value of their heritage and share the same past and destiny, although they have completely different connotations. Whereas Doñana constitutes a paradigm of unspoilt nature within the public discourse, El Rocío stands up for its social, cultural and symbolic values. Being the central space of Doñana Nature Reserve, La Madre de las Marismas proves to be essential to understand the uniqueness of their heritage. Their physical, natural, historical, social, cultural and symbolic values are inseparable, and they manifest themselves in the complex world of emotions that emerge from them. It seems that the identity and values of La Madre de las Marismas actually emerge from its hybrid nature, making self-evident that nature and culture are inseparable. The analysis of the landscapes of this location let us bring forward the unicity of its heritage value and its importance within Doñana.
