Si Doñana constituyeen el imaginario social el paradigma de naturalezavirgen, El Rocío es reconocido por susvalores sociales, culturales y simbólicos. LaMadre de las Marismas, punto central de losespacios protegidos de Doñana, es un lugarclave para entender la unicidad del patrimonio,pues sus valores físicos, naturales, históricos,sociales, culturales y simbólicos soninseparables, manifestándose en el complejomundo de sensaciones y emociones que despiertan.Y es que La Madre funda su identidady los valores que acumula en la hibridaciónde sus componentes, evidenciándose conclaridad que naturaleza y cultura son ámbitosinseparables. They are well-known forthe indisputable value of their heritage andshare the same past and destiny, althoughthey have completely different connotations.Whereas Doñana constitutes a paradigm ofunspoilt nature within the public discourse,El Rocío stands up for its social, cultural andsymbolic values. Being the central space ofDoñana Nature Reserve, La Madre de lasMarismas proves to be essential to understandthe uniqueness of their heritage. Theirphysical, natural, historical, social, culturaland symbolic values are inseparable, and theymanifest themselves in the complex world ofemotions that emerge from them. It seemsthat the identity and values of La Madre delas Marismas actually emerge from its hybridnature, making self-evident that natureand culture are inseparable. The analysis ofthe landscapes of this location let us bringforward the unicity of its heritage value andits importance within Doñana.
