Abstract
The trend in modern communication is increasingly gravitating towards glo-
bality, internationality and its accessibility at all levels. In recent years, more
and more attention has been paid to simplified communication language.
Initially this method was used in communication with people with cogni-
tive disabilities and persons with disabilities. Considering the complexity of
administrative and legal discourse and the advances in speech technology
of simplified language at monolingual level, the question arises of whether
simplified communication strategies can also be applied to the average
user, tourists, citizens with migration backgrounds and in specialised trans-
lation and interpreting. This paper offers an overview of the achievements
in the field of simplified communication and demonstrates the feasibility
of its implementation in global communication as well as in the work of
multilingual interpreters and translators. Using the ATLAS.ti calibration soft-
ware technology, the usefulness of such analysis techniques for segment
identification in facilitating communication in written and spoken discourse
is demonstrated. Thanks to advances in language research and new tech-
nologies, communication and translation professionals can facilitate the
flow of information. They can achieve its more targeting and make the
communication environment more global, understandable and accessible
to any user at all levels and in the inter-lingual dimension.
