In recent years, moreand more attention has been paid to simplified communication language.Initially this method was used in communication with people with cogni-tive disabilities and persons with disabilities. Considering the complexity ofadministrative and legal discourse and the advances in speech technologyof simplified language at monolingual level, the question arises of whethersimplified communication strategies can also be applied to the averageuser, tourists, citizens with migration backgrounds and in specialised trans-lation and interpreting. This paper offers an overview of the achievementsin the field of simplified communication and demonstrates the feasibilityof its implementation in global communication as well as in the work ofmultilingual interpreters and translators. Using the ATLAS.ti calibration soft-ware technology, the usefulness of such analysis techniques for segmentidentification in facilitating communication in written and spoken discourseis demonstrated. Thanks to advances in language research and new tech-nologies, communication and translation professionals can facilitate theflow of information.
