Abstract

One of the 17 sustainable development aims is to guarantee inclusive, equitable, and quality education and foster learning opportunities for everyone for the entire life long. Several authors suggest motivating students to heed more attention to critical discourse and to be aware how it can manipulate the capacity of language as a powerful political tool. At the same time, it is quite recommendable to treat languages and cultures ecologically for their preservation (SURCAMP, 2022). Translation and Interpretation studies and the teaching of foreign languages for professional purposes represent careers where the value of recognizing the communicative and ambassadorial function of language within the community in the context of global development prevails. Gender equality goes hand in hand with inclusive education, where the level of feminization is yet to be achieved despite great joint effort. This paper describes the teaching of German translation as ecotranslation (KORENEVA ANTONOVA; GALLEGO GALLARDO, in press) focusing upon gender equality. Thanks to the use of machine translation, students are made aware of multilingual communication that is free from discrimination and politically correct, reaching holistic learning (KORENEVA ANTONOVA, 2022).
