Abstract
Textiles comprise different material manifestations that endow indigenous peoples with identity and symbolic, social and cultural values. In this work we approach the intimate garment of the ñätho or otomí clothing of San Felipe de los Alzati of nominated labor or ra khoti, we analyze it from the internal vision of the people who manufacture it and from the external vision of the governmental and cultural institutions that they tend to assign them the value of popular art object and / or handicraft object. We rely on the approaches of Mexican anthropology to investigate the subject of objects, particularly traditional textiles, how they have been studied and how the role of institutions and the ways in which objects are named affects their production.
