Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo es examinar el significado de equidad ofrecido por parejas
heterosexuales, basado en la experiencia de practicar ideas equitativas del género. Para
estudiar los significados de equidad, se utilizó la metodología del análisis de discurso el cual
develó nuevas construcciones y de-construcciones sociales a partir de las propias vivencias
de los protagonistas que la experimentan. Estas construcciones se distancian de las
concepciones tradicionales del feminismo por lo que plantean un nuevo discurso del
significado y entendimiento de la convivencia en equidad. Por ejemplo, el nuevo discurso
atribuyó mayor importancia a contar con las mismas oportunidades por encima de realizar las
tareas en partes iguales. Los hallazgos de esta investigación pretenden ofrecer una
aportación innovadora al entendimiento del fenómeno de la equidad por género que sirva de
marco de referencia a los profesionales de las ciencias sociales y, sobre todo, de la
educación.
The objective of this article is to examine the meaning of equality as it is experienced by heterosexual couples who were practicing egalitarian ideas within their relations. The method of discourse analysis revealed that new meanings were attributed to the practice of equality. These meanings resulted in social constructions and de-constructions that distant themselves from the traditional conceptions of feminism. For example, it was more important to have access to the same opportunities rather that doing the tasks equally. The findings of the present research intend to provide an innovative contribution towards understanding the phenomenon of gender equality; particularly among the Education and Social Sciences professionals.
