Abstract
The Reinvention in 1496 in Zamora meant the translatio of the relics of bishops Saint Ildefonso and Saint Atilano, which were hidden in the altar of Saint Pedro, to a new high chapel in the temple. Since then, it will be necessary to build a spectacular platform in the main chapel to get to the bones, and summon the claveros who are custodians of the reliquaries, that sometimes procession to the cathedral in the Baroque festivities, which are heiresses of medieval celebrations. In these cases, the main temple of Zamora, and the processions that give visibility to its institution, become the scene of these relics instrumentalized for ecclesiastical and monarchical propaganda, and for the personal promotion of the bishops of the Old Regime diocese.
