Abstract
With the promulgation of the Royal Decree of 1777 and the founding of the Architecture Commission in 1786, the Royal Academy of San Fernando acquired the faculty and the means to examine the construction projects of the Kingdom and to implement the academic architectural precepts throughout the length and breadth of the same. However, the introduction of the aforementioned construction rules had major difficulties in some kingdoms such as Seville, where the permanence of the baroque models greatly influenced the morphology of the buildings proposed until the second decade of the nineteenth century. Enlightenment period that, specifically in the architecture of Seville, was characterized by the heterogeneous conjunction between the permanence of the Baroque and the partial introduction of academicism.
