Abstract
This research addresses the perspective of academics and researchers on the various debates and challenges concerning qualitative research and transcription. The aim of this work is to study their perceptions of the challenges posed by qualitative transcription in transcription technology tools, as well as their demands regarding the functions of these tools. For this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the selected persons, by means of a systematic and intentional selection, and they were asked about their opinion on the challenges that are debated in the social-scientific world regarding the scientificity of social sciences, the creation of qualitative databases, the creation of a new "black box" in social sciences, the subjectivity of transcription and data analysis, the use of technological transcription tools, and the use of crutches. In general, the interviewees maintain a similar discourse in which transparency stands as a synonym for good qualitative praxis.
