Abstract
The main objective of this article is to systematically review the publications that deal with child and adolescent mental health and teacher training, in stages from early childhood education to compulsory secondary education. For this purpose, four databases were used: Scopus, Web of Science, Proquest and Dialnet. The PRISMA protocol was applied for the selection and analysis of ten final articles chosen, following the established eligibility criteria. The results show that there is an adverse impact of mental problems on the learning and development of children and adolescents, highlighting, therefore, the need for preventive educational interventions and awareness of the mental health of students. Prior to these interventions, the importance of working on the emotional management of teachers in training is emphasized, thus reducing their evident concern about the lack of training in the management of students' emotional development. As main conclusions, the importance of consciously applying the promotion of child and adolescent mental health is mentioned, not only from the teachers' own initiative but also from governments and educational institutions.
