Entre lo racional y lo emocional. El paisaje barroco del Condado de Huelva

Abstract

El Condado de Huelva, situado en el segmento más oriental de esta provincia, es una comarca caracterizada, fundamentalmente, por la cultura vitivinícola y el patrimonio emergido a partir de esta. No obstante, si nos detenemos y adentramos en los entramados culturales, artísticos, históricos, religiosos y sociales, podremos percatarnos de que será el Barroco una pieza clave en las formas estéticas y de identidad de esta comarca. Serán dos los fenómenos que dinamicen la incursión barroca en la tierra llana de Huelva: las torres parroquiales construidas en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII y la romería del Rocío, que comienza a generalizarse desde finales del siglo XVII y durante el XVIII. Ambos, supondrán claves para comprender el desarrollo de un paisaje, racional y emocional, en código barroco.

The Condado de Huelva, placed in the oriental extreme of this province, is a region mainly characterised by the wine culture and the heritage provided. However, if we stop by ourselves and observe his cultural, artistic, historical, religious and social qualities, we would realise that the Barroco is a prominent trait in the aesthetic and identity way of the region. Two landmarks will become important in the Barroco culture arrival process in the Huelva bare earth: the parochial towers built in the second half of the eighteenth century and the religious pilgrimage of the Rocío, which became popular between the end of the seventeenth century and during the eighteenth century. Both will be keys to understanding a cultural landscape¿s development, rationally and emotionally, through Barroco¿s character.
