Abstract
Manuel Silvestre Pérez de Camino, a native from la Rioja, made an extensive career in the Viceroyalty of New Spain as a State functionary during the reign of Philip V. As was usual among the ¿indianos¿, he shipped to his native land some legacies of silverwork and paintings, which were placed in the chapel where he had been baptised. This paper examines his role as an art patron through the documents preserved in the General Archive of the Indies.
