Pintura ilusionista y mensaje iconográfico. Entre la ilusión óptica, el efectismo cromático y el discurso edificante. Ejemplos extremeños del siglo XVIII

Abstract

Algunas manifestaciones pictóricas extremeñas responden a los parámetros de la llamada pintura ilusionista y/o efectista. Son la expresión de ese barroco periférico sobre el que es necesario investigar para poder entender en toda su amplitud el fenómeno cultural de lo barroco y la geografía de su universo. En estas líneas vamos a analizar una serie de ejemplos que presentan características plásticas e iconográficas que, por sus circunstancias geográficas e histórico-artísticas, les confieren caracteres de excepcionalidad en el conjunto de la expresión artística del territorio extremeño y sus aledaños.

Some pictorial manifestations of Extremadura respond to the parameters of the so-called illusionist and/or gimmicky painting. They are the expression of that peripheral baroque on which it is necessary to investigate in order to understand fully the cultural phenomenon of baroque and the geography of his its universe. In these lines we will analyze a series of whom present plastic and iconographic characteristics which, due to their geographical and historical-artistic circumstances, give them exceptional nature into de set of the artistic expression of the territory extremeño and its surroundings.
