Abstract
geográfico-cultural.
Analyses of the manifestations of graphic-rock art in Western Mexico have been largely limited to identifying and recording disaggregated panels or elements, while paying little attention to their location, distribution, and association with such elements as ceramics, lithics, and architecture. This paper discusses the characteristics of rock art found in the states of Michoacán and Guanajuato (central Mexico) by adopting a strategy based on an analysis of the form, associations of materials, and the geographical-cultural context.
