Castillos señoriales nobiliarios y episcopales en Castilla-La Mancha (siglos XIV y XV).

Abstract

Este estudio empieza con un estado de la cuestión bibliográfico, un repaso de la importancia que las redes señoriales tuvieron en aquel momento de refeudalización castellana -paradójico proceso que fue antítesis o envés de la paulatina afirmación de los monarcas autoritarios-, y un intento de definición del tipo de castillo- palacio, en sus aspectos residenciales y defensivos.

Sin desdoro de otros atractivos momentos como el de las fortalezas islámicas y cristianas de la plena Edad Media, o el de las fundamentales construcciones de las órdenes militares erigidas entre los siglos XII y XV, hay que reconocer que nunca se labraron castillos más asombrosos que aquellos que como Belmonte, Guadamur o Garcimuñoz, entre otros, se corresponden exactamente con el tipo más característico de castillo señorial bajomedieval, en el que los aspectos representativos de la arquitectura como símbolo del poder y como prototipo de ensoñaciones caballerescas, ya casi innecesarias desde el punto de vista militar, entonan en su decorativismo el canto de cisne de una sociedad, la medieval, que llegaba a su finThis study begins with a state of the bibliographic matter, a review of the importance of the stately networks had at the time of Spanish refeudalization -paradójico process that was antithetical or undersides of the gradual assertion of authoritarian monarchs, and an attempt to define the type of castle palace, in its residential and defensive aspects.
