Concienciación y Formación en Diversidad Funcional, una Necesidad Social.

Abstract

Se plantea como hipótesis inicial en el presente trabajo de investigación que la concepción social hacia las personas con diversidad funcional influye en su autonomía y toma de decisiones. Tras analizar la concepción social a lo largo de la historia, los términos utilizados, además de los términos autonomía, toma de decisiones y empoderamiento y su relación con trabajo social, se realizan dos tipos de entrevistas en profundidad dado que se aplica una metodología cualitativa. La muestra poblacional del primer tipo de entrevista representa el discurso de personas con diversidad funcional con el fin de conocer su autonomía y toma de decisiones. El segundo tipo se realiza a personas con y sin conocimientos o relación cercana a la discapacidad para adquirir el discurso social hacia el colectivo. Tras el análisis de los resultados la hipótesis se confirma dado que aún existe una mirada social paternalista y de cuidado y la potenciación de la toma de decisiones y autonomía de las personas con diversidad funcional sigue siendo una tarea pendiente.

The initial hypothesis of this research work is that the social conception of people with functional diversity influences their autonomy and decision-making. After analysing the social conception throughout history, the terms used, as well as the terms autonomy, decision-making and empowerment and their relationship with social work, two types of in-depth interviews are carried out, given that a qualitative methodology is applied. The population sample of the first type of interview represents the discourse of people with functional diversity in order to know their autonomy and decision-making. The second type is carried out with people with and without knowledge or close relationship to disability in order to acquire the social discourse towards the group. After analysing the results, the hypothesis is confirmed given that there is still a paternalistic and caring social view and the empowerment of decision-making and autonomy of people with functional diversity is still a pending task.
