La Unión Espiritual (Una alianza para la vida)

Abstract

En el estudio se presentan una serie de ideas con respecto a la unión espiritual para mostrar la importancia de ésta como guía del cristiano. Dentro del interés de esta comunicación está la representación del alma y con ello se comienza, dando paso a la idea teórico-literaria para retomar algunos textos que la abordan, como el de Margarita seraphica con que se adorna el alma para subir a ver a su esposo Jesús a la Ciudad triumphante de Jerusalem (1738) y el de san Juan de la Cruz, como ejemplo central de ello. Aunque se menciona la fuerza que tiene en la vida laica para mostrar la amplitud de esta idea de unión y se habla de la ora- ción como vía hacia Dios para dicha unión, no se puede dejar de poner énfasis en la vida monjil, pues como está implícito en el matrimonio místico, las monjas son las esposas de Cristo por antonomasia. La unión espiritual está representada en ellas.

The study presents a series of ideas regarding the spiritual union to show the importance of this as a guide of the Christian. Within the interest of this research is the representation of the soul and with this it begins, giving way to the theoretical-literary idea to take up some texts that address it, such as that of Margarita seraphica con que se adorna el alma para subir a ver a su esposo Jesús a la Ciudad triumphante de Jerusalem [Margarita seraphica with which the soul is adorned to go up to see her husband Jesus to the trium- phant City of Jerusalem] (1738) and that of saint John of the Cross, as a central example of it. Although the force that the soul has in the secular life is mentioned to show the amplitude of this idea of union, the prayer as a way towards God for that union is also treated. One cannot fail to emphasize the nun ¿s life, because as it is implicit in the mystical marriage, the nuns are the spouses of Christ par excellence. Spiritual union is represented in them.
