Abstract

Painting on glass is a pictorial technique that had a significant presence in Spain and Latin America during the Early Modern Age. There are essential documentary traces of its existence throughout the Hispanic world and copies that have not been studied. The review of a significant part of the existing documentation and the elaboration of a database of inventories of different natures -, royal, noble and ecclesiastical, belonging to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries-, has made it possible to establish chronologies, begin to put together a history of taste, analyse the type of collections in which they appear, discover works that are currently unknown and, through the study of their circulation, to build links on both sides of the Atlantic.
