Entre el barroco "salomónico" y el barroco "estípite": nuevas aportaciones sobre la retablística sevillana entre los siglos XVII y XVIII.

Abstract

La retablística sevillana vivió durante el último tercio del siglo XVII y el primer tercio del XVIII la transición entre la modalidad "salomónica" que se iba quedando anquilosada y el nuevo modelo de retablo de estípites propio ya del Setecientos y que irrumpía cada vez con mayor fuerza. Las nuevas noticias localizadas en el Archivo Histórico Provincial de Sevilla, en la sección de Protocolos Notariales, permite aportar nuevas obras, desafortunadamente no siempre conservadas, a la actividad de una nómina de artistas de diverso nivel, algunos de vida y obra todavía mal conocidas.

The Sevillian altarpiece flourished during the last third of the XVII century while the first third of the XVIIIth witnessed a transition from the "Solomonic" model that was becoming stagnant as the new pilaster model for altarpieces of the 18th exploded with great strength. New reports from the Provincial Historical Archives, in the Notarial Protocols section, provide information on new works (although unfortunately not always conserved) by a wide range of artists from different levels, some not yet well-known.
