Abstract
El artículo trata de resaltar el papel del arquitecto Juan de Aranda Salazar (1605-1654) como uno de los más depurados partidarios del clasicismo en la arquitectura de la primera mitad de siglo XVII en España y heredero de la mejor tradición estereotómica del Renacimiento andaluz, que hace que su persona sea requerida en diversas e importantes obras desde Toledo a Cádiz. Aquí nos centramos en esta proyección suya en la Baja Andalucía, centrándonos sobre todo en su intervención en la iglesia prioral del Puerto de Santa María a través de una serie de dibujos inéditos.---------------------------------------------------------------------This paper deals with the figure of the architect Juan de Aranda Salazar (1605-1654) and highlights his influence as a major representant of Classicism in XVII c. Spanish Architecture. It goes on to study the author¿s role as representing the best estereotomic tradition of Andalusian Renaissance, Which earns him many invitations to intervene in architectural projects in Toledo and Cadiz. More precisely, This paper looks into his contribution on Puerto de Santa María Church based on some of his drawings.
