Impressos de Sevilha na Biblioteca Pública de Évora, os livros enquanto mestres mudos, intérpretes da vontade e tesoureiros da memória.

Abstract

Pretende-se com o presente texto contribuir com alguns elementos no domínio da história do livro, particularmente dos primeiros impressos, que aproximem a história da cultura e do património documental entre as cidades de Évora e de Sevilha. Procedeu-se a um levantamento dos livros impressos em Sevilha existentes na Secção de Cimélios da Biblioteca Pública de Évora, dando uma particular ênfase aos incunábulos, de molde a demonstrar não só a importância da imprensa e dos impressores sevilhanos nos últimos anos do século XV como a preferência precisamente por esse período da impressão por parte dos colecionadores que asseguraram a formação do acervo da biblioteca.This text intends to contribute with some elements in the field of the history of the book, particularly the first printed ones, that can approximate the history of the culture and of documental heritage between the cities of Évora and Seville. There was a survey of the books printed in Seville in the Section of Cimélios of the Évora Public Library, giving a particular emphasis to the incunabula, in order to demonstrate not only the importance of the Sevillian press and printers in the last years of the fifteenth century but also the preference precisely for this period of printing by the collectors who ensured the formation of this Public Library collection.
