"Usualizar" la diversidad para superar los silencios del currículum en torno al género y la sexualidad

Abstract

Las iniciativas para incluir la diversidad afectivo-sexogenérica en el currículum escolar se han multiplicado en los últimos años. Lamentablemente, al menos en el contexto hispanohablante, estas carecen de un marco teórico suficiente para conceptualizar y sistematizar su metodología didáctica. En este artículo se propone asumir -y clonar en español- las ideas de usualising y actualising, propuestas y aplicadas con éxito por Sue Sanders y SchoolsOUT en el Reino Unido para superar las limitaciones de la gay lesson ocasional. Por ello, se justifica filológicamente la posibilidad lingüística y real de adoptar un neologismo ("usualizar") capaz de compensar los inconvenientes inherentes al concepto de normalización. Se apoya la propuesta de forma teórica con una perspectiva necesariamente interseccional y descolonizadora del sistema educativo actual. Enlazando teoría y praxis, la presentación se basa también en el recorrido vital, profesional y activista de la autora.

The actions to include affective-sexgeneric diversity in the school curriculum have increased in the last years. Unfortunately, at least in Spanish-speaking contexts, there isn't a solid theoretical framework to conceptualise and systematize their didactic methodology. This article suggests taking on-and cloning into Spanish-the ideas of "usualising" and actualising, put forward and successfully applied by Sue Sanders and SchoolsOUT in the United Kingdom, with the aim of compensating the shortcomings of the occasional gay lesson. Hence, the real linguistic possibility of coining the Spanish neologism ("usualizar") is philologically supported in order to overcome the inherent limitations of the concept of normalising. The proposal is theoretically justified with a necessarily intersectional and decolonizing perspective about the current education system. Linking both theory and praxis, the presentation is also based on the author's professional and activist life.
