Abstract
Faced with the vast and undeniable diversity of the towns and cities that were part of the Hispanic World, it is surprising how similar the strategies with which the faithful and promoters of religious images activated new cults and ensured their permanence. Here, we propose the analysis of three problems in the relationship between images and sacred space as well as cultural practices and changes in perception, based on the exhibition of two cases from the American cults of the Bishops of Michoacán and Puebla-Tlaxcala, as well as from Contemporary Spain.
