Abstract
Within cultural identity, each linguistic community has a plethora of knowledge, collective stereotypes, categorizations, and symmetric concepts. Proverbs, as a phraseological aspect, reflect identities, as they are driven by intercultural relationships and reflect the pros and cons among communities that use different languages. However, proverbs in various languages suggest common characteristics among communities, besides the systematic linguistic differences that would be interesting to determine. The study is to shed light on the full parity of the Spanish-Arabic proverb as two languages of two large Mediterranean communities and approve that this type of communicative language constitutes a universal phenomenon. This research concludes that the cultural affinity among both Mediterranean communities is attributed to the multiculturalism and formal and textual correspondences of both languages.
