La escultura y el retablo en Jerez de la Frontera durante el Barroco: de la dependencia a la autosuficiencia

Abstract

Se estudia la vinculación con Sevilla de la escultura y el retablo en Jerez de la Frontera durante el periodo barroco, abordándose, por un lado, los cada vez menos frecuentes encargos a talleres hispalenses y, por otro, la influencia del arte sevillano en los obradores abiertos en Jerez en el siglo XVIII.

The link with Seville of sculpture and altarpiece in Jerez de la Frontera during the Baroque period is studied, approaching, on the one hand, the less and less frequent commissions to Seville artistic workshops and, on the other, the influence of Sevillian art in the artistic workshops opened in Jerez in the 18th century.
