Abstract

The purpose of this work is to review the importance of the Portuguese late Gothic architecture in the buildings in Baja Andalucia that were carried out between 1520 and 1550. This was due to the transfer of masters, who traveled from the neighboring country and settled in the area, where they ended up adopting as own constructive systems and ornamental motifs brought from the neighboring country. The role of Diego de Riaño as an introducer of the trend is especially noteworthy, since since he went to Lisbon to work in the monastery of Jeronimos de Belem, the influx of Portuguese artists to Baja Andalucía was considerable.
