El papel y reconocimiento del trabajo social sanitario en los centros de salud primarios

Abstract

Esta investigación surge a raíz de la necesidad de aclarar el papel del trabajo social en el ámbito sanitario de atención primaria y del déficit de investigaciones existentes respecto a la motivación laboral de dicha profesión en relación al desempeño del trabajo. Su abordaje se ha realizado a través de una metodología cualitativa basada en la realización de tres entrevistas semiestructuradas a profesionales del trabajo social sanitario en centros de salud primarios andaluces. Dichas entrevistas han arrojado luz sobre las funciones actuales de la profesión en los mencionados centros sanitarios, el reconocimiento que tiene entre otros profesionales de la salud, superiores y la ciudadanía, y la reivindicación del reconocimiento de la especialización.This research arose from the need to clarify the role of social work in the primary health care setting and the lack of existing research on the work motivation of this profession in relation to job performance. It has been approached through a qualitative methodology based on three semi-structured interviews with health social work professionals in Andalusian primary health care centres. These interviews shed light on the current functions of the profession in the aforementioned health centers, the recognition it enjoys among other health professionals, superiors and the citizens, and the demand for recognition of specialization.
