Abstract

Regardless of the generic characteris tics, every day exceptions appear according with the seats and the social groups present there. The so called cities for the Spaniards or administrations in Mexico (New Spain), represent clear models of orthogonal structures which generated a net for territorial control. The analysis of these enclaves based upon documents, such as the Relaciones Geográficas de Felipe II, constitute the main objective of this text.
