Abstract
laboral.
Compassion Fatigue is the main topic of this research. To study, first to carry out a bibliographic review under the concept, to delve into the various theories and authors that investigate Compassion Fatigue, its possible causes and consequences and, finally, it was analyzed as prevention. The employee's methodology follows a quantitative approach, where the Empathy Wear Inventory (Zamponi et al., 2011) was administered to a sample of 26 helping relationship professionals made up of subjects of both sexes (50% female and 50% male) with different years of experience in the sector. The objective is to measure the level of spending, explore the relationship with the variables gender/sex and years of experience, and analyze the self-care behaviors carried out to prevent or alleviate this syndrome. As results obtained, there is a high rate of professionals who are at risk of suffering from Compassion Fatigue Syndrome, even though the majority are those with normal empathic functioning. Men have obtained a higher level of wear and tear, with very little difference from women, and people with less work experience have a higher risk of suffering from it.
