Málaga y los territorios del Reino del Granada. Confluencias, presencias, disidencias y sinergias con Sevilla

Abstract

Los grandes centros de producción artística ejercen un atractivo considerable entre artífices y clientes de sus respectivas periferias. Sin embargo, esta realidad dista de ser uniforme en cuanto a la intensidad y alcance de tales influencias en diferentes áreas geográficas. En el presente trabajo estudiamos la proyección de Sevilla sobre la “otra” Andalucía del antiguo Reino de Granada en los Siglos de Oro. El análisis de la cuestión nos sitúa frente a un cuadro clínico fuertemente polarizado en los extremos de una evidente dialéctica. De esta manera, Málaga aparece como el territorio históricamente más permeable, receptivo y proclive al flujo de sinergias que conlleva la presencia de artistas y la recepción de obra hispalense. Salvo contadas excepciones, endogamia e impermeabilidad fue la respuesta de Granada a este mismo fenómeno.

The most important centers of artistic production exert considerable attraction among artists and clients from their respective peripheries. However, this reality is far from uniform in terms of the intensity and scope of such influences in different geographical areas. In the present work we study the projection of Seville on the “other” Andalusia of the old Kingdom of Granada during the Golden Age. The analysis of the issue places us in front of a strongly polarized clinical picture at the extremes of an evident dialectic. In this way, Málaga historically appears as the most permeable, receptive and prone to the flow of synergies that the presence of artists and the reception of sevilian work entails. With few exceptions, inbreeding and impermeability was Granada’s response to this same phenomenon.
