Abstract
During the 18th century sevillian mural painting lived a period of splendor manifested in extensive iconological programs for religious and civil buildings. These paintings were characterized by a spectacular staging, with feigned elements, artifices and, ultimately, the aesthetics of lying. This work exposes the results of the project I+D+i Research, conservation and enhancement of Sevillian mural painting of the 18th. century and examines its characteristics and the main artists who worked in Seville and its province.
