Abstract
The Puebla-Tlaxcala region is known for its rich cultural heritage rooted in the Viceroyalty period, in which architecture, painting, and sculpture stand out in its extensive patrimony of altarpieces. Among the existing altarpieces in the temples, there is a group of painted altarpieces of which we have located about 36 in 22 places, including fragments. This work gives a report of these altarpieces and discusses some issues on the subject.
