Crónica de un caso de censura: Kindergarten (1989, Jorge Polaco), la iglesia y la frágil postdictadura argentina.

Abstract

El artículo reconstruye la censura sufrida por la película Kindergarten (Jorge Polaco, 1989). A partir del análisis de diversos documentos (declaraciones en la prensa, escritos anónimos, dictámenes oficiales) se busca mostrar cómo durante estos años ciertos sectores vinculados a la iglesia católica todavía permanecían activos ocupando espacios de poder. El estudio demostrará cómo estos construyeron acciones mancomunadas más propias del pasado inmediato que del presente político. De esta manera, el ¿affair Kindergarten¿ aparece como un ejemplo clave del carácter transicional de los primeros años de la postdictadura argentina.

The article reconstructs the censorship suffered by the film Kindergarten (Jorge Polaco, 1989). From the analysis of various documents (statements in the press, anonymous writings, official reports) it is sought to show how during these years certain sectors associated to the Catholic Church still remained active occupying power spaces. The study will show how they built joint actions more typical of the immediate past than of the political present. In this way, the ¿Kindergarten affair¿ appears as a key example of the transitional nature of the first years of the Argentine post-dictatorship.
