Abstract

The investigation that is presented focuses on the stylistic affinities between portals and other more complex stone structures of religious facades of Seville and Lisbon, during the Baroque period. These affinities were originated by the migration of models, from the circulation of Treaties of Art, from the observation of frontispieces of literary, religious or scientific works, from the copy of the ornamentation of ephemeral arches, or from the constructive orientations of the religious orders, transversal to different nations. In addition to the familiarity of forms between portals and facades in Seville and Lisbon, it was considered, for the same period, the transfer of models from these two port cities to Terras de Vera Cruz and other parts of Latin America.
