Imágenes de la infancia en el área maya precolombina: breve estudio sobre el infante del cuarto 3 de Bonampak

Abstract

En este texto se analiza la representación de un infante en la pintura mural del Cuarto 3 en el sitio arqueológico de Bonampak. Su interpretación ha resultado problemática desde que se comenzaron a estudiar los murales. Aquí se busca una aproximación a través de distintas perspectivas ya que el pequeño forma parte de un acto de autosacrificio que es realizado por mujeres de la corte del mismo lugar. Con ello, se pone de relieve la presencia de niños en contextos míticos y cortesanos.

This text analyzes the representation of an infant in the mural painting in room 3 of the archaeological site of Bonampak. It ́s interpretation has been problematic since the existence of murals is known. Here an approach is looked for through different perspectives, since the little boy is part of an act of self-sacrifice that is carried out by women of the court of the same place. This highlights the presence of children in mythical and courtly contexts.
