La instalación en la Antártica y los paisajes del agua de Allan Jeffs.

Abstract

Esta ponencia es una reflexión sobre una instalación en la Antártica, los paisajes del agua y los dibujos en placas Petri de Allan Jeffs, artista chileno radicado en Ecuador. Se valoran las obras de arte de Allan Jeffs desde una perspectiva estética y filosófica. Se destaca el contexto excepcional donde se realizó la obra y los diversos roles que asume el artista en el proceso creativo. El artista se comporta como un theoros o embajador- espectador, un cartógrafo-paisajista y un científico.This paper reflects on an installation in the Antarctic, the water landscapes and the drawings in Petri dishes by Allan Jeffs, Chilean artist that lives in Ecuador. The art works of Allan Jeffs are appreciated from an aesthetic and philosophical point of view. The context in which the work was done and the diverse roles that the artist assumes during the creative process are emphasized. The artist assumes the roles of the theoros or ambassador-spectator, the cartographer- landscape artist and the scientist.
