Abstract

Las Memoirs de Ann Fanshawe constituyen un precioso recurso para la reconstrucción de la Guerra Civil inglesa desde el bando realista y para conocer la práctica diplomática europea en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. En el presente texto se analizan las principales características de la obra y los motivos por los cuales puede ser considerada una ¿historiadora negada¿ prestando especial atención a las razones por las cuales se compuso la obra, las fuentes utilizadas, las justificaciones y las estrategias empleadas por la autora.

Ann Fanshawe¿s Memoirs are a valuable source to rebuild the Civil War from the royalist side and to get to know the diplomatic practice during the second half of the 17th century. This text analyse the main features of the book and the reasons why Fanshawe can be considered as a `rejected historian¿ underlining the background of its composition, the sources, justifications and strategies employed by the author.
