Los otomíes del semidesierto queretano: Arte, historia y ritualidad.

Abstract

Los grupos otomíes asentados en el semidesierto queretano comparten prácticas culturales que al ser reproducidas periódicamente permiten la cohesión de la comunidad reforzando los vínculos sociales a través de diferentes manifestaciones. Su historia, en la que intervinieron chichimecas y españoles, refleja algunas prácticas y creencias producto del contacto de estas sociedades que llevaban consigo componentes culturales que permitieron el sincretismo que se refleja en las prácticas actuales. La ritualidad se expresa en parte, por medio de las manifestaciones artísticas que han contribuido en la pervivencia de tradiciones y ceremonias que año con año congregan a los pobladores de diferentes localidades. San Miguel, comunidad protagonista de este artículo, será el referente para conocer y comprender la vida y cosmovisión de algunos de los otomíes del semidesierto queretano.

The otomies groups settled in Queretano share cultural practices to be reproduced periodically allow the community cohesion strengthening the social connections through different manifestations. Their history, in which chichimecas and spaniards intervened, reflects some practices and beliefs product of contact of these societies that have cultural components that allowed a syncretism reflected in the current practices. The ritualism is expressed through the artistic expressions that contributed in the survival of traditions and ceremonies which every year bring together residents from different localities. San Miguel, protagonist community in this article, will be the reference for knowing and understanding the life and world view of some of the otomies of Queretaro.
