Abstract
In addition to being a prominent sculptor and altarpiece-maker, the Sevillian artist Pedro Duque Cornejo (1678-1757) occasionally painted his polychome sculptures and even painted in oil on canvas and wood. In this paper we make a first approach to this forgotten side of the artist¿s production, tracing his role as painter in the written sources and studying some new identified paintings.
