    Comparison of cognitive and metacognitive strategies in the academic achievement of urban and rural students of Eghlid

    This research studies the cognitive and metacognitive strategies with academic success in urban and rural students; gender and place of residence that has not been the result of a definite result on their role in previous research have been gained. The present research is a correlation type and is an applied research. The aim of this study is to improve the level of learning. The target population of the high school students in Eghlid city is 269 people. A sample of 241people was randomly selected and researched. The number of samples is specified according to the Morgan table. Pearson correlation and (T) test were used for two independent groups. The obtained result indicates that cognitive and metacognitive strategies in academic achievement, gender, and location are also effective in these strategies, so that female students are more than boys and student's Urban uses both types of strategy more than rural students.

    Las controversias sociocientíficas como herramienta didáctica para el desarrollo de la alfabetización científica

    La desconexión existente entre la ciencia que es llevada a cabo por los científicos y la ciencia escolar es una realidad que se refleja no sólo en diferentes informes sino también en el creciente desinterés del alumnado por las cuestiones científicas. En este artículo nos planteamos la formación en competencias científicas y, más concretamente, la adquisición de la alfabetización científica a través de las cuestiones o controversias sociocientíficas (SSI). Las SSI acercan la llamada "ciencia en construcción" a la realidad del aula, despertando el interés del alumnado con temas controvertidos científica y socialmente. Estos problemas abiertos nos sirven como contexto para estudiar la ciencia y sobre la ciencia; y constituyen, además, una potente herramienta para alcanzar la denominada ciencias para todos y todas, una de las líneas de investigación más relevante en la enseñanza de las ciencias en los últimos años.

    La acreditación de idiomas en las universidades españolas: Un estudio cuantitativo en la Universidad de Córdoba

    Con la implantación casi generalizada de requisitos lingüísticos en los grados de las universidades españolas, la acreditación de los niveles de competencia en lenguas extranjeras ha tomado una relevancia esencial. Dentro de este trabajo, presentaremos una visión global del estado de la cuestión en España, para más tarde centrarnos en el análisis de la acreditación lingüística del alumnado de la Universidad de Córdoba. Nuestro estudio estadístico, basado en un grupo de más de dos mil alumnos, nos proporcionará datos con los que dibujar un panorama aproximado del nivel de acreditación idiomática en nuestra universidad, teniendo en cuenta variables tales como la nota de acceso, la macroárea, el sexo o el idioma seleccionado para cumplir con el requisito a la hora de egresar. Asimismo, podremos dilucidar si caminamos hacia una Europa más plurilingüe o no.

    The rugby training in coaches from Almeria

    The sport practice has increased during the last decades, which has propitiated that sport became a great social, educational and politic phenomenon. Therefore, governments of developed countries have increased the investment in the coaching development. Research shows the importance of the theoretical and practical bases for coaching transmitted in formal training activities, however is also questioned the effectiveness of these type of courses. Consequently, it is critical to study and to know more about these training processes. In this study, it have been sought to better understand the reality of the rugby training courses in the province of Almería (Spain). It have been carried out a quantitative methodology, via a questionnaire, which achieved related data for the initial formation of the coaches. Once the process of elaboration of the instrument was concluded, it was applied to 27 rugby coaches in the province of Almería. In this sense, a descriptive analysis was performed, and according to the most relevant results, it can be deducted that the most of the rugby coaches surveyed have the minimum level of coaching certification, and that they agree with the duration, content and distribution of theoretical and practical activities during the courses car ried out by the Andalusian federation.

    Gender stereotypes among Spanish university students about psychosocial risks in childhood

    Recent studies have shown that gender stereotypes are not sensitive to social changes. There is a gap in how gender is treated in college. This study is part of an innovation project to improve teaching quality in university. We aim to analyze the presence of gender stereotypes related to at-risk childhood in a sample of 113 university students. Most students considered that some circumstances, like substance consumption, are more likely in boys. On the contrary, they think that looking after siblings or anxiety are more common in girls. Results show the need to incorporate the gender perspective into universities. The special needs of the at-risk girls require further research and specialized training

    Creating a sustainable competitive advantage for organizations through the implementation of knowledge management with the help of modern information technology

    Today, rapid environmental, organizational and technological changes have created a complex competitive environment for organizations. Information technology is a tool and strategy for organizations to deal with these complexities and changes. The present study Creating a sustainable competitive advantage for organizations through the implementation of knowledge management with the help of modern information technology. In fact, this study assesses the mediating role of modern information technology on the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable competitive advantage. To test the significance of the hypotheses, two critical value (CR and P) in Structural equation model was used. Based on the 5% significance level, the critical value must be greater than 1.96. According to the results, for all the research hypotheses, this value was more than 1.96 and the P value was less than 5%. It can be concluded that information technology and knowledge management have a positive and significant impact on the creation and development of a sustainable competitive advantage for organizations. It was also found that modern information technology an important mediating role on the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable competitive advantage.

    Relationship among the Actors and Levels of Trust in Secondary Education Centers of the Guayaquil Canton (Ecuador)

    The public policy of Ecuador has placed the improvement of educational quality as one of the main objectives of government management. The climate-school constructs, organizational climate, work climate, and institutional climate, are used in different environments to accentuate the importance of the relationship established between a management environment factor and the quality of results in organizations. Through out this study, the objective has been to analyze the variations in the relationship among the actors, and the levels of trust between the actors of the school organizational climate, according to the socioeconomic level, the role played in the educational community, or the type of socio-educational center. The study follows a new approach of an experimental, descriptive-comparative investigation, using techniques such as the survey, the interview, and the discussion group, adjusting to the mixed methodology according to the objectives and sense of the research proposed. In consideration of the results, we will appreciate that the relationships between the actors and the confidence levels of the actors show mostly positive indicators based on the responses of the participants in the study. However, the percentage of negative perceptions (24.34%) is a factor to consider, since it might suggest that these perceptions underlie indicators of distrust that should be taken into account for any future interventions. In conclusion, the schools participating in this study have built a mostly positive school organizational climate, which generates favorable spaces for innovation and change processes.

    Contributions of the Catalan Educational Inspection in the Process of the Autonomy of Didactic Centers

    Catalonia is a point of reference in the whole picture of the autonomy of centers after the approval of the Education Law (LEC) accepted on July 16, 2009. This involved the realization of two fundamental principles on organization and educational management: the Decree of autonomy of educational centers, and the Decree of Management of didactic centers Analyzing this educational and social situation, we observe that all the work and the influence that the Inspection develops is of interest in the process of the autonomy of centers for the improvement of quality in education. It is understood that the Inspection is one of the most responsible in the search for this quality, and in obtaining the improvement of results that equal us, educationally speaking, to the best countries in Europe. In this new scenario, we want to know from the figure of the Educational Inspection, what contribution is made in this innovative process of the autonomy of centers that we are going through in Catalonia. In order to carry out this study, we relied on a bibliographic review of different expert authors on the subject, of the current educational regulations in Catalonia, and on the application of a methodological framework based on different instruments, such as the questionnaire, the in-depth interview, and the focus group.

    Data Driven Learning and teaching of prepositions in ESL: A study of Arab learners

    This paper explores the effectiveness of data driven learning approach in teaching prepositions to Arab learners. English prepositions have been reported to be a typical feature to learn by the Arab ESL learners. Moreover, intermediate or advance level learners have also reported their difficulties in the usage of English prepositions; reasons might be perceptual and cultural differences bet the two language communities. Teacher trained materials prepared from online resources along with TPP corpus, the aim of the present study was to compare DDL and traditional prescriptive rule based method of grammar teaching. Two distinct classes; experimental (n = 41) and control (n = 19) groups were formed who were study English major. Standardized test was conducted as a pre-test to ensure participants equal level of proficiency in using prepositions. During the study duration for a semester, experimental group was exposed to teacher-prepared materials along with TPP to see prepositions in context. Moreover they were asked to explore further through the prepared materials to reinforce their learning from the data. A post-test was administered at the end of the course. The results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group. It was found that learners' active role to direct their own learning process caused this encouraging outcome and better learning experience for the learners.

    Los valores constitucionales en los jóvenes europeos: singularidades por países

    Este trabajo analiza los valores constitucionales europeos de la dignidad, la libertad, la igualdad, la solidaridad, la ciudadanía y la justicia, desde el ámbito de la juventud universitaria de Alemania, Gran Bretaña, España, Francia, Italia y Portugal. En el se reconocen los valores que comparte de manera general toda la juventud europea analizada, y las singularidades de cada país y, además, se aprecia la importancia de una educación en valores ciudadanos, una educación para la ciudadanía. En un primer momento se lleva a cabo un muestreo en el que se buscaron sujetos proviniesen de países con distintos posicionamientos en sus valores y en sus tradiciones democráticas. El instrumento utilizado es un cuestionario de 58 ítems en el que se estudian los valores y las actitudes sociopolíticas en los jóvenes europeos. Posteriormente hemos aplicado la técnica estadística del análisis factorial de correspondencias cuyo objetivo es presentar en un mapa perceptual la información de los datos analizados a partir de tablas de contingencias. En el análisis hemos podido comprobar como las opiniones de los jóvenes difieren en las categorías de apreciación con las que han manifestado su percepción sobre cada uno de los valores estudiados, permitiendo que pueda realizarse un acercamiento definitorio a las características singulares de cadagrupo o país a través de los valores constitucionales.

    Techno-pedagogical resources to support teaching: Augmented reality as a dynamic tool for the substitute teacher

    Current education is marked by a process of technological updating, with augmented reality (AR) being one of the technologies with the greatest projection in the educational field. It is an innovative technique that generates an intermediate reality between the physical environment and the virtual world, through the conversion of everyday objects to digital elements in 3D, allowing its users to interact with them through a mobile device. This technology allows adapting to any situation, such as those moments in which a teacher has to replace another during the school day. The objective of this study is to know the influence exercised in the students of secondary education the application of an innovative experience based on the use of the AR as a dynamic tool of the sessions in which the professor of a subject is absent and has to be replaced by another teacher. To this end, a non-experimental design of a descriptive and correlational type was followed through a quantitative method. An ad hoc questionnaire was applied to a sample of 210 students from an educational center in Ceuta (Spain). The results reflect that the implementation of the experience has contributed to the reach of positive values in motivation and student participation, achievement of objectives, digital competence, classroom climate and all this with few difficulties in the students, being statistically significant differences in regarding the gender and course of the student body.

    Revisión Sistemática de Literatura: Tendencias de los sectores educación, finanzas y salud en los procesos de implementación de Gobierno de Tecnologías de la Información

    El objetivo del presente estudio es determinar los modelos o estándares y herramientas computacionales utilizadas en los procesos de iniciativas de Gobierno de Tecnologías de la Información en los sectores de educación, finanzas y salud. Se utilizan los métodos de mapeo y revisión sistemática de literatura para evaluar e interpretar la información disponible en dos bases de datos de carácter científico como son SCOPUS y WEB of SCIENCE publicadas en los años comprendidos entre 2012 y 2017. Los resultados se registraron en un instrumento de extracción de información construido con dos enfoques, en el primero se registró información del contexto actual sobre Gobierno TI y en el segundo se ubicó información relacionada a las preguntas de investigación. La búsqueda encontró 619 documentos que cumplían los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. En estos trabajos se aplicó el método de mapeo para obtener el resumen de datos en cada una de las preguntas de investigación. Se concluye que el presente trabajo identificó los procesos de Gobierno de Tecnología de la Información que han tenido mayor relevancia en los sectores en educación, finanzas y salud dentro de los años objeto de la revisión de los documentos, permitiendo la orientación de futuros trabajos considerando los modelos investigados y probados.

    Effects on academic performance in secondary students according to the use of ICT

    The main interest of this study was to evaluate the degree of association that the use of ICT could have toschool performance in mathematics,within a limited geographical area. The data was obtained thanks to the International Student Assessment Program (PISA). 1376 students from the Canary Islands participated. To obtain the best possible approximation to the phenomenon, a mixed research method was used, in whicha linear hierarchical model (HLM) analysis was used to assess the characteristics of students and schools. The results reflected positive changes in school performance influenced by the effective use of ICT. It was shown that learning can be enhanced thanks to ICT, unless its use is not appropriate.

    Propuesta metodológica para el desarrollo de software en proyectos de titulación en la especialidad de Ingeniería en Sistemas Computacionales

    El objetivo del presente trabajo es proponer una metodología de desarrollo de software para los trabajos de titulación en la especialidad de Ingeniería en Sistemas Computacionales, mediante el estudio analítico e investigativo. Se aplicaron técnicas de la entrevista a un grupo de desarrolladores de software, además se empleó la técnica de la encuesta, que fue aplicada a estudiantes y docentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Informáticas. La cual permitió recabar ciertas características de las metodologías ya existentes, de forma tal que sean adaptables y fácil de ejecutar para el escenario que se maneja en la carrera y el conocimiento que poseen los estudiantes al emplear una metodología de desarrollo de software en sus proyectos. Como resultado del trabajo, se presenta una metodología hibrida denominada XPRUM, la cual consta de cuatro fases, que integra la metodología XP y Scrum, que permiten conducir el proceso de desarrollo de software en los trabajos de titulación. Promoviendo el uso de la herramienta que nos presenta la metodología Kanban, que permitirá el control de los procesos y sus actividades.

    Análisis de Excelencia educativa en el trienio 2016-2018 para básica secundaria en la Institución Educativa General Santander

    Este trabajo de investigación tuvo por objetivo realizar un análisis de excelencia educativa, Índice Sintético de Calidad Educativa (ISCE), en el trienio 2016 a 2018, en la Institución Educativa General Santander del municipio de Soacha-Cundinamarca, Colombia. Se realizó el cálculo para cada uno de los componentes de excelencia; Progreso, Desempeño, Eficiencia y Ambiente Escolar. Se pudo evidenciar un incremento en su ISCE a partir del año 2016, de 4, 20 hasta llegar en el 2018 a 4, 89. Esto debido a los planes de mejoramiento que la institución ha implementado año tras año para mejorar su ISCE.

    Citizenship and plurilingual social actors in Spain and Japan: methodological aspects and introduction to exploratory analysis regarding the plurilingual competition category

    Plurilingual and pluricultural competence refers to the ability to use languages for communicative purposes and to participate in an intercultural relationship in which a person, as a social agent, dominates -with different degrees- several languages and has experience of various cultures. From the theoretical framework and the review around the problem, a categories system is elaborated in three blocks: types of citizenship, plurilingual competence and pluricultural competence. This system is useful for the configuration of the questionnaire CYASPS® "citizenship and plurilingual social actor in Higher Education" and for the systematization of data analysis with the support of the statistical analysis program SPSS. Regarding the block "plurilingual competence", focusing in the advantages of plurilingual education, a large part of the sample of professors' responses from selected Spanish and Japanese universities show an acknowledgment of the existing connection between plurilingual competence and pluricultural competence.

    Teaching reading to ESL Arab learners: A theoretical review

    The present paper reviews the status of reading comprehension skill among the learners of EFL in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. There are various factors contribute to the poor language skills among the learners, as reported by various agencies as well as the Ministry of Education. It is an attempt here to propose Situational Method as an effective tool to enhance the learning experience of the learners. Both the countries, including the other Arab nations have spent remarkably very well in the direction of creating their own workforce to become self reliant but the desired outcome is still a way far. This paper will enable the researchers to have an idea of the current situation and work for the reinforcement of such model to make the EFL teaching-learning process more rewarding.

    Competencias investigativas y mediación tecnológica en doctorandos de Iberoamérica

    Una de las principales funciones sustantivas de la Universidad en el Siglo XXI es la que se refiere a procesos de investigación, así como la incorporación de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, y más aún cuando se trabaja en el nivel de Posgrado. En el estudio se analizó el desarrollo de competencias investigativas a partir de procesos de mediación tecnológica con 218 estudiantes de 17 países Iberoamérica, para lo cual se llevó a cabo una investigación con un enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transaccional y de alcance descriptivo, se empleó como técnica la encuesta a partir del instrumento de encuesta conformado por 83 ítems, distribuidos principalmente en cinco apartados: 1) datos generales, 2) disponibilidad y acceso a internet, 3) dominio de recursos tecnológicos, 4) competencias investigativas y 5) mediación tecnológica. El instrumento fue contestado de manera electrónica, y dentro de los principales hallazgos se destaca la frecuencia de uso de herramientas tecnológicas, la búsqueda y selección de información a través de internet, sin embargo, es importante transitar de paradigmas orientados a la identificación de información y que permitan la construcción y difusión del conocimiento tanto de manera individual como de forma colaborativa.
