Technostress, Work Performance, Job Satisfaction, and Career Commitment of Teachers amid COVID-19 Crisis in the Philippines
(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Cahapay, Michael B.; Bangoc II, Nathaniel F.
The perception of technostress in education constantly increasing to unprecedented levels is not new. However, in novel situations like the global COVID-19 crisis, technostress and its influence on important teaching facets deserve a revisit. This paper focuses on the association of technostress on the sample characteristics and organizational performance variables of the teachers in the context of emergency distance education brought by the COVID-19 crisis. Following a mainly correlational research design, 2,272 teachers from Mindanao, Philippines were taken as a sample. The data collected through adapted instruments were treated using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the teachers experience moderate level of technostress, very high levels of work performance and job satisfaction, and high level of career commitment. It was further revealed that technostress and its four sets significantly differed across age, gender, marital status, and teaching experience. Lastly, it was found out that technostress has a significant negative relationship with work performance. The practical implications of these outcomes on the professional development of the teachers in the context of emergency distance education are discussed at the end of the study.

Student proposals to prevent academic plagiarism
(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Cebrián-Robles, Violeta; Raposo-Rivas, Manuela; Ruiz Rey, Francisco José; Cebrián-de-la-Serna, Manuel
The digital transformation of the production of works in the university world offers us many advantages as well as obligatory precautions in the institutions to avoid dishonest practices. There are many studies in the literature on academic plagiarism, but on few occasions those most interested in the solution are asked, such as the students themselves, the vast majority of whom obtain their degrees through hard work and who are most affected by these bad practices. The research design was non-experimental of cross-sectional type with a questionnaire and reliability of Cronbach's Alpha 0.775, obtaining data from 823 students from 10 institutions and 3 different Latin American countries on the solutions they see as most effective, their knowledge of the preventive measures of their institutions and how competent they see themselves at an individual level to avoid it. The research design analyzes quantitative and qualitative data... The students' main solutions consist of three types, a formative preventive first, a punitive second and a totally lax third. Showing higher self-perception in terms of competence to deal with plagiarism in higher grades.

The purpose of this study is to examine the physical activity levels of the before and during the pandemic, and the styles of coping with stress according to their physical activity levels, and the styles of coping with stress during the pandemic process according to gender of students Faculty of Sports Sciences. The research group of the study consists of 401 volunteer students (175 female; 206 male). The data were collected used the "International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF)", and the "Ways of Coping Questionnaire" and personal information form. In the analysis of data; t test was used in pairwise comparisons and ANOVA test was used in multiple comparisons. According to the analysis results; During the Covid-19 pandemic, the physical activity rate decreased in both female and male students compared to the pre-pandemic period, and the physical activity level showed a significant difference in favor of male students according to the total MET score during the pandemic period. All students used the "confident approach" style the highest and the "submissive approach" the least in their coping styles; It was determined that girls used the submissive approach more than boys. A significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions of self-confident, helpless and optimistic approach according to physical activity levels. As a result, it can be said that the way of coping with stress of students with a high level of physical activity also affects positively. In this context, physical activity and exercise can be recommended to students in coping with stress.

Three-dimensional modeling as a methodological innovation for teaching zoology and as a strategy for environmental education
(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Gonçalves Cutrim, Caio Henrique; Albano Araújo, Vinícius
The great diversity of animals and the relationship between their morphological characteristics, adaptations and life strategies are approached in the teaching of zoology. The use of innovative and alternative methodologies, such as zoological modeling, are tools that can contribute to a high interest in the study of zoology and it is use in an environmental education strategy. In this study, the zoological modeling intermediated the teaching-learning process in undergraduate students of the Biological Sciences course and the connection of teaching practices with environmental extension activities. Twenty-two animal models were built with representatives of the Phylum Arthropoda, Mollusca, Cnidaria and Echinodermata, approaching aspects of external, internal morphology and life cycle. The process of perception, viability and assimilation of the construction of the zoological modeling was analyzed through interviews with 40 undergraduates and 100 children and teenagers, the target audience of the workshops. The results showed that the three-dimensional modeling stimulates environmental students in the teaching-learning process and it is use in education activities were efficient, awakening curiosity, enabling the demystification of animals and the dissemination of their essential ecosystem services for the conservation of biodiversity.

Design proposal towards an interdisciplinary approach to environmental education: Theoretical analysis of an innovative practice
(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Gómez Galán, José; Figueroa Miranda, Olga; Lázaro Pérez, Cristina; Martínez-López, José Ángel
Environmental protection has become, especially in recent decades, a relevant issue that concerns people and that is very present in the European and international political agendas. One of the most useful means of raising awareness of the environment and the fight against climate change is environmental education. However, this is a specialty not yet specially defined, which in the educational fields is offered in different ways (as an independent subject, tangential to others, within science education, etc.). This work aims to defend the need for an interdisciplinary environmental education that can be presented in any subject. It presents, through a qualitative and descriptive methodology, the theoretical analysis of innovative educational practice in the context of secondary education and from the perspective of several specialties, focused on the description of the passage in the Europe of the Middle Ages. The result offered is a model of classroom programming, articulated through a didactic monograph that is the basis of the practice, which is offered as an example for implementing new proposals for instructional design of environmental education from an interdisciplinary approach. The presence of environmental problems in any subject and theme offers the best framework for the awareness processes so necessary today.

Sustainability and education through social networks. Presence and visibility of the school garden on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
    (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Álvarez-Herrero, Juan-Francisco; Urrea-Solano, Mayra; Martínez-Roig, Rosabel
The use of school gardens as an educational practice in Spanish educational centers has recently regained greater prominence and significance, especially within the framework of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. However, the presence and visibility of school gardens as well as the ways in which centers use them remain little known to the educational community. Furthermore, in a world where our lives are increasingly governed by the digital and the Internet, social networks arise as fantastic tools to give prominence and disseminate the educational actions which take place in schools. Seeking to ascertain the extent to which school gardens are visible and present on social media, as well as how schools use those school gardens, we carried out the collection and analysis of the last 100 posts appearing with the hashtag #huertoescolar on three social networks: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It follows from the results obtained not only that educational centers record these practices preferably on Twitter, then on Facebook and finally on Instagram, but also that they utilize school gardens mostly to ensure the practical application of the theoretical contents taught in different academic subjects as well as to encourage students' environmental awareness. Greater use of school gardens is still needed to work on Sustainable Development Goals, though.

What does literature teach about digital pathology? A bibliometric study in Web of Science
    (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) López-Belmonte, Jesús; Segura-Robles, Adrián; Cho, William C.; Parra-González, María-Elena; Moreno-Guerrero, Antonio J.
Digital pathology (DIPA) has become an effective discipline that generates a graphic environment to diagnose and interpret the pathological information of people. When analyzing the existing literature on DIPA, a knowledge gap was produced by not reporting a study that has bibliometrically analyzed the publications on the subject. The objective of this study is to analyze the scientific production and performance achieved by the term digital pathology in the Web of Science (WoS) database. For this, a methodology based on bibliometrics has been carried out, complemented by the scientific mapping technique to search, recorder, analyze and predict the scientific literature on the state of question. We have worked with an analysis unit of 1222 documents reported from WoS database. The results show that there is no research topic in the field of study of DIPA that stands out from the rest. A conceptual gap can be observed in the thematic development, given that there is no theme that is repeated in all periods, where the connections are more thematic than conceptual. There are key documents for different topics. The main themes have been very different over the years like telepathology and artificial intelligence.

(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Sarasola Fernández, Alberto; Barrera Algarín, Evaristo; Caravaca Sánchez, Francisco; Sarasola, Jose Luis
This article analyzes how Social Work has been able to connect professional practice with the generation of knowledge. Social Work has the capacity to generate scientific knowledge directly from its professional intervention, and specifically, through the evaluation of its professional intervention. For this, Social Work has used different scientific methodologies and procedures for decades and have consolidated its generation of scientific knowledge. In this case we refer to the use of experimental and quasi-experimental designs, and the so-called Single Case Evaluation Designs (SCDE). Their diverse types and potentialities for the direct generation of scientific knowledge from the evaluation of professional practice are described. Method: We analyze the level of publications about experimentation and SCDE using Scopus Database, working with data exported from 1960 to the present. And estructurated by 14 variables. Findings: There is a significant increase in the number of publications about "Experiment in Social Work" and "Single-Case Evaluation Designs in Social Work", especially in the last decade. The United States and United Kingdom are the largest producer of experimentation in Social Work. Applications: We conclude that Social Work has been able to use these methodological research strategies to consolidate its capacity for research and generation of knowledge, both for the generation of theory and for professional intervention.

(Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2021-12-01) Gallardo-López, José Alberto; Muñoz Villaraviz, David
This research includes a teaching experience within the framework of an educational innovation project of the Junta de Andalucía, whose backbone is an Annual Communication Sample (MuAC) that, after three editions, has consolidated as a meeting place for educators and students of all ages, different cultures, and socio-educational realities. The main objective is to turn students into the protagonist of their learning, in inter- regional and intercultural contexts, besides showing and sharing sound educational practices in emblematic areas of the city. This way, people involved exchange their experiences with teachers through participatory methodologies that favor meaningful learning. They also make visible the multiple innovative educational tasks that are carried out in their educational centre. The study basically analyzes from a quantitative methodology, information collected in the three editions of the MuAC and establishes a comparison, in which the number of participants for year of publication are reflected, educational levels, educational institutions participating, the whole workshops and socio-educational activities carried out, and the degree of satisfaction with the experience. After analysis, we conclude that lt was a highly satisfactory experience, we involved in the edition of 2018 more than 1000 students, and 87 teachers from 12 different schools, 9 secondary schools, 1 University, and 12 socio - educational organizations. This type of activity improves social relationships, helps to promote teaching and learning from an intercultural and intergenerational approach, and expands the concept of the neighborhood among the citizenship that has been participating in this experience.
