Este capítulo hace una remembranza de la comunidad indígena muisca de la época precolombina, tomando como signos de su identidad dos objetos utilitarios: el volante de huso y la manta: el primero, como instrumento para hilar el algodón, principal materia prima de la manta, y el segundo, como resultado final del oficio textil. El volante de huso
y la manta son analizados a través del acto creativo del ser humano y su proyección como creaciones del pueblo muisca, que las concibió y materializó. De esta forma, se pretende recrear la concepción mental, sensitiva, cognitiva y original del objeto y las formas de hacerlo tangible, evocando sus creencias, historias y usos colectivos. El capítulo se desarrolla en tres apartados: el primero es una contextualización sobre los
muiscas y su actividad textil; el segundo profundiza sobre la concepción teórica del acto de crear, y el tercero hace referencia al proceso creativo de estos dos objetos, que narran sobre el mundo muisca.
This writing evokes the indigenous Muisca community of the pre-Columbian age, taking as signs of their identity two utilitarian objects: the spindle whorl and the blanket, the first one as an instrument for spinning cotton, the raw material of the blanket and the second one, as the main product of the textile trade. The spindle whorl and the blanket are analyzed through the creative act of the human beings and its projection as creations of the Muisca indigenous who conceived and materialized them. Thus, this article intends to sketch the mental, sensitive, cognitive and original conception of the objects and the ways of making them tangible, evoking the Muisca indigenous¿ beliefs, histories and common uses.
