This text reflects on Sor Francisca Josefa del Castillo y Guevara (1671-1742), observing not so much the historical character (the writer and mystic from New Granada of the 17th century), as her creation and emergence as an image from the Colony to the present. In the first place, a relationship is established between two anonymous paintings from the Colony that establish the religious as an exemplary body of baroque femininity. And, secondly, it alludes to two performances by contemporary Colombian artists Clemencia Echeverri and María Teresa Hincapié that update conflicts of mysticism, such as the relationship between the female body and space today.
