Para lograr tal objetivo se estudia su evolución estilística a través de varias piezas que pertenecen a distintas imágenes marianas españolas. Se complementa con el análisis de un dibujo que se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de España, que representa un diseño anónimo de esta singular alhaja.Marian effigies have been dressed and jeweled by popular devotion throughout the centuries. This article intends to underline the artistic and conceptual relevance acquired by a purely Marian jewel such as the rostrillo. To achieve this objective, its stylistic evolution is studied through several pieces that belong to different Spanish Marian images.
