Román Carrasco, José2025-12-312025-12-312025-12-31978-956-417-135-7978-84-09-75440-3https://hdl.handle.net/10433/25315This research proposes a critical analysis of the incorporation of the concept maritorium into the Chilean political and academic debate, which has oscillated between a definition of it as a referent of characteristic physical-topographical realities, and its understanding as a particular sociocultural formation. To illustrate the dissimilar concrete consequences that these different emphases can generate, we analyze geographically and historically the particular case of the northern part of the Chilean fiordal maritorium, in which the dictatorship (1973-1990) imposed a referential understanding of it, concretized in the installation of the salmon industry, although this company combines in its operation relations between land, fluvial and maritime zones, its horizon does not express a maritorial logic of adaptation of its activity to the ecological limits of its surroundings, but, it installs an exogenous logic of occupation and spatial organization, adapting the geographical and social environment to its project.Esta investigación propone un análisis crítico de la incorporación del concepto maritorio al debate político y académico chileno, el cual ha oscilado entre una definición de este como un referente de realidades físico-topográficas características, y su comprensión como una formación sociocultural particular.
